OVERVIEW
Each city looks different at night, but we can certainly say Antwerp fully deserves to be the capital of diamonds! Nights in Antwerp shine like fine crystals. Glittering!
This tour will take you to amazing and mysterious places, narrow streets and alleyways where lights shine like precious jewels, as if out of A Fairy Tale. You will see the main attractions, but in a completely different light, creating a unique atmosphere, which is also incredibly inspiring.
Perhaps it is no coincidence that Antwerp, with its unique atmosphere and rich artistic heritage, became the setting in which so many remarkable works of art were created.

More information
As the sun sets and the city gently dims, Antwerp takes on a softer rhythm, her cobbled streets glowing under lamplight, shopfronts twinkling, and the scent of waffles and roasted nuts floating on the evening breeze. This two-hour private walking tour invites you to see a different side of Antwerp: quieter, more poetic, and utterly enchanting.
Begin your evening on the bustling Meir, where opulent façades and grand palaces are bathed in golden light. As the crowds thin and the shops close, the street transforms into a peaceful boulevard, its architectural beauty all the more striking under the calm of twilight.
Pause by the illuminated Royal Palace, once frequented by kings and nobles, now glowing with understated grandeur. Just steps away, the Stadsfeestzaal, a magnificent historic event hall now transformed into a shopping arcade, offers a surprising dash of glamour behind its art nouveau doors.
Wander off the main avenue into charming backstreets like Huidevettersstraat and Wolstraat, where tiny galleries, hidden courtyards, and vine-covered façades evoke the Antwerp of centuries past. These lantern-lit alleys whisper secrets of merchant families, baroque composers, and quiet romances.
In the heart of the old city, you’ll reach the serene Hendrik Conscienceplein, softly glowing under antique lampposts. The square feels like a stage set: the baroque St. Charles Borromeo Church on one side, the stately Heritage Library on the other. It’s a perfect place to pause, breathe, and soak in the stillness of the city at rest.
Enter the Vlaeykensgang, a hidden alley from the 16th century, untouched by time. Lit by warm lanterns and echoing with your footsteps on the old stones, it’s a truly magical part of Antwerp, a quiet haven away from the world, where stories seem to hang in the air.
As you reach the Cathedral of Our Lady, its soaring spire glows against the night sky. This iconic Gothic monument looks even more majestic by night, casting long shadows and radiating quiet strength. In the square below, street musicians often play soft melodies, adding a gentle soundtrack to your stroll.
Next, drift toward Groenplaats, now lively with evening diners, friends chatting over beer, and the statue of Rubens watching silently over it all. You may choose to stop here briefly for a warm drink or simply enjoy the twinkling lights and laid-back energy.
End your journey in the heart of Grote Markt, where the City Hall and ornate guild houses sparkle with light and history. The Brabo Fountain, gently lit, tells its eternal tale as the square hums with gentle life. Step into a cozy local pub, where flickering candles, creaky wooden tables, and rich Flemish beer await. Raise your glass and toast to a night well spent in one of Europe’s most romantic and storied cities.
